Techsense AQ is a next generation real-time internet-ready data acquisition and telemetry control system. Built with powerful processor, it is designed to cater for all needs related to Telemetry, RTU, Data Logging and Communication System. It is flexible, modular and packed with features that will help you to achieve real time data acquisition and control. Most importantly, it comes with native TCP/IP support enabling it to provide telemetry functionalities over the Internet.

Scalable Data Acquisition Interfaces

AQ is an excellent and ideal data acquisition telemetry system. Designed around an open and modular architecture, the AQ Series supports all the different industry standard data acquisition interfaces. Through its various optional interface components, it is able to support all your data acquisition needs.

RS232 Serial Interfaces:
All AQ Series systems come with built-in serial ports. With and advanced regular-expression based parser, the AQ Series is able to parse and collect data from and type of intelligent sensor.

RS485 Serial Interfaces:
The AQ Series also features an RS485 port, enabling collection of data from sensors connected to common RS485 bus.

Analog Interfaces:
Voltage and current based sensor interfaces are available.

Digital Interfaces:
Logic bit-patterns, frequencies and counters are supported through built-in and expansion interface modules. The AQ Series can also acquire data from another AQ Series unit, allowing for many topologies to suit your requirements.

On-board Data Processing Engine

The AQ Series features AQSense, our advanced data processing engine. All data acquired from sensor interfaces are converted to a uniform internal format, and tagged with a time-stamp and product ID. Each product can then be passed through one or more calculators that processes the data to derive another product. Calculators are available for calibrating sensor data, converting data to engineering units and validating data. Our calculators can be used to perform linear transformations, range mapping, counting, range checking, and step checking. The AQSense data processing engine also has calculators to aggregate data: arithmetic sums, maximum, minimum and means. Time span and output frequency are configurable for any period of 1 second or more, allowing running and block aggregates to be generated. Specific calculators allow generation of industry-specific products. For meteorological stations, we have wind speed and wind direction averaging calculators, as well as calculators to derive Dew Point and Relative Humidity calculators. An optional software option adds calculators for use in airport AWOS environments. These calculators allow the determination of Runway Visual Range (RVR) and runway crosswinds. Custom calculators can also be incorporated to suit your project.

Web-browser Based Monitoring & Configuration

The AQ Series features a built-in web server, allowing it to be accessed and managed from any standard web browser, whether locally or remotely via WAN-links. Normal users can view data in real-time through their web-browsers using our Real Time Display page. Presentation of data is fully customizable, using text fields, wind dials, and scrolling strip charts. Data is streamed in real-time from the AQ to the web-browser, allowing even 1-second resolution data to be presented. Historical data may also be queried. The AQ Series is able to output data in HTML, CSV, XML, PDF formats. It can also generate multi-series charts. All configuration of the AQ Series is performed through the web interface. Settings include station identity, location, sensor interfaces, data processing algorithms, data logging parameters, and local and wide area communications.

Built-in Data Logger

Non-volatile flash memory (optional on some models) allows selected products to be stored onto CompactFlash or SD Flash Cards. Data frequency can be set for each product, with storage resolutions of 1-second and above being supported. Data logged to the flash cards are in our documented AQsense Format, and can be accessed via any PC with a suitable flash card reader.

Data Distribution With IP Connectivity

The AQ series is able to stream its products in real-time over any TCP/IP network. It can be integrated into our METstation and METairport products, allowing data to be logged and viewed centrally. It can also be integrated into our METcenter product, which caters for advanced reports and analysis. Built-in support for Ethernet and PPP allow the AQ to be connected to LANs and asynchronous leased lines. With our optional IP-based communications products, connections to GPRS/EDGE networks, WiFi, WIMax, ADSL/SDSL, and VSAT are also supported. The AQ series also features built-in VPN technology, allowing it to be accessed remotely over NAT WANs.
