METstation AWS enables you to depend on it for reliable and timely data. It is designed to work as manned or unmanned AWS. It offers real time data processing and data transmission. It is fully complies with all requirements from ICAO and WMO.

Designed with open architecture, METstation supports sensors from different manufacturers giving you better option . Sensors from any brand can be added or replaced easily without major change on METstation.

METstation is developed fully on Web architecture. It is aimed at giving customers the flexibility to access the application and perform their job function from anywhere at anytime. And its 2-way data synchronization ensures all your data is successfully sent to you.

Sensors

METstation supports various sensors from different manufacturers. It is designed to enable you to mix and match sensors of your choice. The sensors can easily integrate to Techsense AQ4000 Series using Digitial and Analog I/O, RS232, RS485 and Counter.

Realtime Acquisition Engine and Data Logger

This is an intelligent and very powerful data logger that is scalable to support simple to highly complex configurations.

Data Acquisition

Runs on intelligent embedded computing acquisition platform to interface with various sensors to process, log and distribute the sensors data. The key features of METstationi Acquisition are:

  • Realtime data transmission
  • High data resolution up to every second
  • Automatic or manual data collection
  • Configurable rules for data validation
  • Sensors health check
  • Performs 3-second average of wind data
  • Data conditioning & calibration
  • Supports RS232, RS422, RS485, analog, digital I/O, relay contacts and event counters sensors interfaces

Data Logging

METstation Data Logging is configurable to store the data in different interval. The storage is stored in removable Compact Flash memory which is scalable. And the built-in data synchronization capabilities ensure all data is always sent to remote host.

Data Processing

METstation Data Processing processes "raw" data from Acquisition. It converts data to meaningful values. It will perform quality checks on the data stream based on pre-configured rules to ensure data validity and integrity. Data Processing consists of a pool of rules based on the combination of sensors. These rules are WMO and ICAO compliant. METstation can also be configured to send METAR and SYNOP automatically.

Data Viewing

Real time and historical data in data logger can be easily retrieved using a standard web browser connecting to the logger directly. Data can be downloaded into csv or pdf file.

Communications

Supports RF, WiMAX, WiFi, GPRS/EDGE/3G, RS232/RS485, Ethernet LAN.

METstation Software

Accessing METstation is simple. For basic use, users can access the data in METstation data logger directly over the network. Once connected to the remote system, all data would be streamed to the user directly in real time.

For users who need more control over the data from METstation data logger, METstation software can be setup to automatically process acquire the streaming data from the remote data logger. METstation software is a system software that is build to acquire and process the data from METstation AWS. METstation software is suitable for manned station operations as users can interact with the data using a rich sets of functionalities available in METstation software.

Power Product Generator

Product generator is the module to generate all the end products for end users. Some of the products are:

  • Realtime wind direction and speed
  • 1/ 2/10 minutes wind information
  • Temperature and relative humidity
  • Barometric information (MSL, QNH, QFE)
  • Rain
  • System health status for sensors, network and Data Logger
  • Reporting

Realtime Data Display

METstation uses standard computer monitor for publishing the processed data. With flexible screen design option, the layout of the data can be easily customized to suit your optimal view. All access to the real time data display is simply by just using a standard web browser. And in more cases, users can use their existing desktop monitor to view the data from anywhere with direct connection to AQ Data Logger.

For a large scale deployment with multiple AWS, Real Time Data Display can be changed to support viewing of multiple AWS data in a map layout.

Data Storage

All data from sensors and also products generated by METstation is stored locally in METstation software. The data can be easily retrieved using a standard browser. The data can also be exported easily csv or graphical format in pdf format.

Data Synchronization

METstation Data Synchronization ensures missing data due to network downtime is eventually brought back to METstation software. It is done automatically and ensure data availability.

Data Integration

METstation supports flexible integration framework (SOAP, XML, ASCII, CSV, HTML). Out of the box, METstation can easily interface to message switch and external visualization system.
