METairport AWOS enables effective airport operations by combining all obtainable meteorological data at an airport with a suite of realtime data transmission and web-based intuitive user interface.

It is fully complies with all requirements from ICAO and WMO. METairport's powerful aggregation and presentation capability is suitable for international and domestic airports. METairport is designed to be accurate, reliable and consistent in ensuring meteorological data is readily available to the end users.

METairport is developed fully on Web architecture. It is aimed at giving customers the flexibility to access the application and perform their job function from anywhere at anytime.

Designed with open architecture, Techsense METairport allows any combination of sensors from any manufacturers. Sensors from any brand can be added or replaced easily without major change on any system components.

Sensors

METairport supports various sensors from different manufacturers. It is designed to enable you to mix and match sensors of your choice. The sensors can easily integrate to Techsense AQ4000 Series using Digital and Analog I/O, RS232, RS485 or Counter.

Data Logging & Processing

Realtime Acquisition Engine and Data Logger

This is an intelligent and very powerful data logger that is scalable to support simple to highly complex airport configurations.

Data Acquisition

Runs on intelligent embedded computing acquisition platform to interface with various sensors to process, log and distribute the sensors data. The key features of METairport Acquisition are:

Data Logging

METairport Data Logging is configurable to store the data in different interval. The storage is stored in removable Compact Flash memory which is scalable.

Data Processing

METairport Data Processing processes "raw" data from Acquisition. It converts data to meaningful values. It will perform quality checks on the data stream based on pre-configured rules to ensure data validity and integrity. Data Processing consists of a pool of rules based on the combination of sensors. These rules are WMO and ICAO compliant.

Data Viewing

Real time and historical data in data logger can be easily retrieved using a standard web browser connecting to the logger directly. Data can be downloaded into csv or pdf file.

Supports RF, WiMAX, WiFi, GPRS/EDGE/3G, RS232/RS485, Ethernet LAN.

METairport Software

METairport Software is the heart of METairport AWOS. It is a realtime processing engine that manages data distribution, storage, retrieval and archiving functions. It takes in all the data from the various sensors via the Data Logger from runway and further processes the data.

Power Product Generator

Product generator is the module to generate all the end products for end users. Some of the products are:

• Realtime wind direction and speed
• 1/ 2/10 minutes wind information
• Cross wind, head and tail wind
• Runway Visual Range (RVR) & Meteorological Optical Range (MOR)
• Temperature and relative humidity
• Barometric information (MSL, QNH, QFE)
• Rain
• System health status for sensors, network and Data Logger
• Reporting

Realtime Data Display

METairport uses standard computer monitor for publishing the processed data. With flexible screen design option, the layout of the data can be easily customized to suit your optimal view. Most importantly, all access to the real time data display is simply by just using a standard web browser. And in more cases, users can use their existing desktop monitor to view the data from anywhere with direct connection to METairport. For a large scale deployment with multiple AWOS, Real Time Data Display can be changed to view multiple AWOS enabling realtime sharing of information of many airports.

Data Storage

All data from sensors and also products generated by METairport is stored locally in METairport software. The data can also be exported easily csv or graphical format in pdf format.

Data Integration

METairport supports flexible integration framework (SOAP, XML, ASCII, CSV, HTML). Out of the box, METairport can easily interface to message switch, ATIS and other systems.
